I made this art nouveau railing during my work study in Aachen Germany. It was an improved design of existing railings on the premise. The left picture is the installed railing which was hot dip galvanized. The right picture is the section that was made for the shop gallery.

When forging in the Art Nouveau style the metal is not all the same thickness, when the metal gets narrower in one dimension it get thicker in the other. This change in thickness is what makes the art nouveau style very appealing and interesting.
