I made this art nouveau railing during
my work study in Aachen Germany. It was an improved design of existing
railings on the premise. The left picture is the installed railing which was
hot dip galvanized. The right picture is the section that was made for the
shop gallery.
When forging in the Art Nouveau style the metal is not all the same thickness, when the metal gets narrower in one dimension it get thicker in the other. This change in thickness is what makes the art nouveau style very appealing and interesting. |
