These strap hinges were made for house near Allentown, Pa. The barrels of the hinges were forged welded. This is the traditional technique for hinges made in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Most reproduction hinges that are made today have rolled barrels which aren't as strong. The pintles were designed to be driven in. The upper hinges are 24" long and the lower hinges are 18" long.

If you are interested in having some strap hinges made let me know the length, end design (round like these, bean, tulip. etc.), and how many hinges you will need and I can quote you a price.
