| This knife was a gift from my friend Achim Wirtz (president of the Belgium Knife Society) in Wuerselen , Germany. It is from Ca. 820 AD. This knife was found near the city of Bled, Slovakia. It is believed to have been from the Slovakian resistance movement to the Franks. The way it can be accurately dated is that it is known when the Franks displaced the Slovakians in this region and everything the Slovakians couldn't carry with them they buried in pits. |
